As I was packing up after today’s show, the director came in and told me that a shy 2 year old had been very apprehensive walking into the the show, but came bounding out with a huge smile on her face and joyfully exclaimed, “I saw a PENGUIN! Can we do that again?!”
And that, for me, is what makes my job the best job ever. Hearing the kids laugh, knowing this show is having a positive impact on them makes me feel great. There are lots of great jobs in the world, I just happen to be doing the perfect job for me.
The work is challenging and not without its downsides. There’s stuff I don’t enjoy about my job, but the joy and satisfaction I feel after a great performance is well worth the struggles.
My wish is that everyone could be as happy doing their job as I am doing mine!
