Hey, I found this video created by an acquaintance of mine, Susan Fulcher. I met Susan very briefly at an annual puppeteers’ conference called Puppeteers Potlatch, which takes place the first weekend in November at the beautiful Potawatomi Inn at Pokagon State Park in Indiana.
Susan is a librarian and works with puppets doing story time for children at the library. This is a great little tutorial video about creating “homes” for puppet characters.
Do you work with puppets? This is a great way to create a set for your stories AND a place to keep your puppets. Each bag/box has its own theme, and as you’ll see, they are decorated in such a way that they can actually work as a set or backdrop for the story you’re telling.
When you’re done, the puppets and props from that story go right back into the bag/box where they’re ready to go for the next time. No more digging around in big trunks trying to find the right puppet for each story. I have wasted a lot of time over the years doing that.
Anyway – great idea from Susan, check it out!
